Residential Customers
Natural gas can be used for water heating, heating your home, drying your clothes, cooking, and outdoor living. Natural gas is a source of energy for your home that is clean, reliable, and affordable.
Residential Customer Rate Structures:
- Rate 1 – All Gas House
- Rate 10 – Year-Round Residential Customer
- Rate 20 – Seasonal (Heat Only) Residential Customer
Commercial Customers
Businesses and non-residential consumers of natural gas are classified as a commercial customer.
Commercial Customer Rate Structures:
- Rate 30 (Small Commercial) – Gas usage less than 1,000 MCF/Month
- Rate 24 (Large Commercial) – Gas usage greater than 1,000 MCF/Month
OR Commercial customer with a generator - Rate 21 (Public Buildings)
- Rate 50 (Farm Related)
Industrial Customers
Rate 25 (Firm Industrial) – Heat Only
A high-volume natural gas consumer, which uses natural gas for manufacturing on a large scale, is considered an industrial customer. There are two types of industrial customer classifications:
FIRM – Firm industrial customers cannot be curtailed and do not have a back-up fuel source. There is a premium charge for a firm industrial service because Chester County Natural Gas Authority must maintain demand contracts with suppliers. Firm industrial rates are negotiated with each industrial customer.
INTERRUPTIBLE – Interruptible industrial customers can be curtailed. Interruptible industrial customers must have a back-up fuel source. Rates are negotiated with each industrial customer.
